A Story That Began with the Scent of Sawdust

The Journey of Furnirem

Some stories do not begin with a brand, but with hands at work.

With a young apprentice holding a plane for the very first time… with the scent of sawdust engraving itself into memory.

Our story began when a twelve-year-old carpenter’s apprentice first met wood. The day his hands touched timber for the first time, it was not merely a profession that emerged, but a lifelong craft. That apprentice never put down his plane—for fifty years.

Ömer: The 1st Generation Master

My father. A master craftsman who has breathed life into wood for nearly half a century. For over fifty years, he has listened to wood, treated it with the respect it deserves, and infused every piece he shaped not only with form, but with soul. Carpentry was never just a job for him; it was a way of life, shaped by patience, dedication, and honesty.

Over the years, thousands of furniture pieces left his workshop. Yet he was always guided by the same principles: solidity, simplicity, and integrity.

Where Mastery Meets Vision

My name is İhsan.

The scent of sawdust in my father’s workshop is one of the clearest memories of my childhood. My school holidays were spent not on playgrounds, but at workbenches, surrounded by tools and timber. Without realizing it at the time, the texture of wood and the passion for creating had already settled deep within me.

Life led me down a different path. I continued my education and graduated as an electronics engineer. Yet that deeply rooted sense of craftsmanship only grew stronger amid the coldness of corporate life. The idea of combining my father’s forty years of mastery with the analytical perspective engineering had given me became a turning point.

One day, I made a defining decision.

I would bring together my father’s “old-world” craftsmanship with my “new-world” vision. I chose to leave my engineering career behind and rebuild our family craft in harmony with the spirit of our time. The greatest strength behind this bold step was my wife, who never lost faith in this journey. With her support, I returned to where I truly belonged—back to the workshop.

Our goal was no longer just to produce furniture, but to create contemporary pieces where traditional mastery meets modern design.

This journey soon extended beyond the walls of our workshop.

Each handcrafted piece found a new life in different corners of the world. To date, more than 3,400 solid wood furniture pieces have become part of people’s homes, memories, and everyday lives abroad.

Every message we received, every shared photograph, every story told with satisfaction became our most valuable confirmation that we were on the right path. A 4.8+ star customer rating means far more to us than a number—it is a quiet acknowledgment of craftsmanship, patience, and honesty.

Now, we are excited to bring that same passion, care, and mastery into homes across Türkiye.

Furnirem: Where Tradition Touches the Future

We began anew by combining my father’s fifty years of experience with my contemporary, dynamic perspective. Today, we create modern, minimalist, solid wood furniture. Every piece reflects craftsmanship, simplicity, and a timeless design philosophy.

The Furnirem brand is a natural outcome of this story.
Our name brings together Furniture, the universal language of our craft, and İrem, the name of my younger sister—one of our family’s most precious members. Because for us, this brand is not just about furniture; it is a part of our family.

As the second generation of a fifty-year legacy, we offer more than furniture—we create modern, sustainable, and long-lasting living solutions. We continue to produce with an approach that places respect for handcraft, simplicity, and honest materials at its core.

In every solid wood piece we create, you will find the warmth of traditional craftsmanship alongside the sustainable lines of modern minimalist design. We do not simply place objects in your homes; we bring a meaningful touch to your living spaces—uniting the experience of the past with the aesthetics of the future.

Because we believe that a well-crafted wooden piece is never just an object, but a silent witness to labor, time, and lived experience.
